Week 3 of the 2013 Holiday Movie Pool is the one week this season Hollywood forgot to plan. Most of the time, the fourth weekend of November is Thanksgiving Weekend. School is out, the stores are packed, relatives show-up with celery in Jell-O molds, and people just want to get away for a couple hours in a movie theater after they've woken up from turkey induced comas.

Due to the traditional five-day Thanksgiving Weekend being stuffed (and celery is perfectly acceptable in stuffing) with movie options, higher anticipated films have taken to opening the week before Thanksgiving for that added punch. The late holiday date this year, however, made Week 3 a non-event. With Thor: The Dark World opening in Week 2 and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire debuting in Week 4, not a single big-budget film even tried to float in the still waters... which explains why an expected minor hit is about to become a major one.

The Best Man Holiday was gifted a $30.6 million present over its first three days. The 14 years later reunion flick reunited to a three times greater return than The Best Man's $9 start when people actually partied like it was 1999 in 1999. As these characters are just entering their 40's, let's hope they don't wait another 14 years for The Best Man Erectile Dysfunction. You'd like to sort out those sorts of problems on this side of 50... or at least that's what I've been told... Moving on!

Thor: The Dark World kept a light on falling 55% in its second weekend with $38.5 million for a $147 million 10-day total. The declining percentage feels a little on the high side considering it had zero competition from other action films this weekend, though pundits will point out it's almost the same decline as Skyfall last year and we all know how that turned out for the #1 film of the 2012 Holiday Movie Pool. Of course, that second weekend Skyfall fell against The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. Instead, Odin was able to strip Thor's power this weekend with two stars from the failed Law & Order: LA without even utilizing L&A:LA's Alfred Molina who was at least Dr. Octopus in Spider-Man 2. If The Best Man's Holiday could cause some unrest in Asgard, just wait till it catches 'Fire' next weekend.

Last Vegas showed it's not just its actors who are long in the tooth. Falling (and not getting up) a scant 19.8%, the film gummed another $8.9 million for a $47 million 17-day total. It looks like older people did want to get out to see this movie, it's just that their Rascal Scooters can only get them there so fast.

Free Birds remained un-caged with a similar 25% drop-off after a $8.3 million weekend and $42.2 million gross. The finely feathered film has avoided getting plucked out of theaters so far, yet we all know what the fate will be for this turkey: it's goose will be getting cooked.

Ender's Game ended 40% down in its third week. The $110 million movie has yet to make even half that. Maybe all the gamers were saving their money for PlayStation 4s and Xbox Ones this month. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Xbox Live Network is really a secret Microsoft recruiting tool for enlisting elite shooters and snipers for the coming zombie apocalypse. The first wave of zombies being the posers who waited all night to buy a mango colored iPhone. "Yeah, I know it does everything the same as my old phone, but this one's teal... TE-AL!"

The Top Five If Today Was Martin Luther King Jr. Observance:
#1. Thor: The Dark World - $147 million
#2. Ender's Game - $53.8 million
#3. Last Vegas - $47 million
#4. Free Birds - $42.2 million
#5. The Best Man Holiday - $30.6 million
