America just couldn't help itself. Whether it's a car crash, Kathee Lee and Hoda, Kim Kardashian nudes, or Black Friday sales, we just have to take a look, follow that link, or find ourselves at 4 A.M. outside a Walmart (because nothing ever can go wrong at 4 A.M. outside a Walmart). We never want to be the only one that doesn't know something about everything.

The same can be said about the success of Dumb and Dumber To. Even when you know better, you just had to check it out, you know, just in case it was something everyone was talking about. When you go to doctors offices now, they don't just ask you if you've been to West Africa in the past 21 days. They also ask have you seen Dumb and Dumber To. If you answer "Yes," they have a special waiting room for you.

The sequel to the semi-classic Dumb and Dumber opened with $36.1 million. While not quite to the heights of last week's one-two punch of Big Hero 6 and Interstellar, it was enough to be Jim Carrey's biggest opening since Bruce Almighty in 2003 (Yes, it's been that long). Bringing the whole gang back together (which in this case just meant two people) was enough to spark people's imaginations at what further hilarities could ensue. They may have missed the hairy dog truck on getting Harry and Lloyd wigs out to Party City in time for Halloween outfits, but thankfully the chipped tooth look never goes out of style.

Big Hero 6 lived up to its title and remained "big" in its second weekend. Dropping only 38% percent, the film held-up extremely well and it bodes well for its long-term haul heading into a long Thanksgiving Holiday where families are flocking to theaters. With a weekend total of $34.7 million, Baymax and Co. have amassed a fluffy 10-day $110.3 million total. Apparently, when you replace The Iron Giant with The Michelin Man, you can sell a lot more tickets.

Interstellar had a huge sigh of relief as it also had a very acceptable decrease from its opening weekend. Falling only 40%, the science-speak with a southern-drawl didn't scare off adults looking for a movie spectacle that didn't involve cartoons or teen book bestsellers. It may be too far off to see if Interstellar could hold onto that audience throughout the holiday season, it's a great sign that its audience didn't go into a wormhole after just one week. If it had, it probably would've been a second Failure to Launch for McConaughey.

[For those new to the pool, a film normally drops about 40% from weekend to weekend. So, when a film drops by less than that (usually due to positive word-of-mouth), it's seen as a good thing and if a film drops by more (usually due to negative word-of-mouth), it's seen as not so good. The caveat for "blockbuster" films is that they tend to frontload and get so many people in the first weekend that they naturally have larger drop-offs. With this is mind, a 50% fall would still be grand, but anything more is often a sign that the film will be coming to DVD sooner than you might think.]

On a side not, Beyond the Lights went Beyond the Radar as in no one even knew it was coming out with a $6.2 million debut. Why no one wanted to see a movie starring what's-her-name and who's-his-face in a film about whatcha-ma-call-it, I'll never understand.

With Katniss Everdeen about to join the rebellion, aka the Holiday Movie Pool, expect this Top Five to change greatly by next week. For now, here's where we stand B.D. 13 (Before District 13)

The Top Five If Today Was Martin Luther King Jr. Observance:
