DreamWorks Studios may have never figured out the live-action feature film department, but, after a rough start, Jeffery Katzenberg has sure delivered on his ability to compete and sometimes even best Disney's animated efforts. Kung Fu Panda waxed on and off to the tune of $60.2 million in its opening weekend. Quite the comeback for Jack Black whose last effort of Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny was so memorable it, uh… I'm sorry, what was I talking about again?

You may question his methods, you may question his antiperspirant, but you can't question that Adam Sandler opens movies. He may have come in second place to animated martial artists, yet Don't Mess With The Zohan messed-up $38.5 million in its first three days. This is by far the biggest opening ever for a film about an Israeli counter-terrorist who longs to be a hairdresser.

Hopefully, this movie puts an end to the ridiculous notion that there are no more original ideas in Hollywood. This is clearly the most creative thing this town's come up with since the producers of Growing Pains found a way on Network TV to name Kirk Cameron's best friend Boner.

For the money they spent on shoes, you'd have expected Sex and the City to have better legs. Instead the film suffered a fashion faux pas by ending up on the discount rack quickly. Falling 63% in its second weekend, the ladies can still stand proud with their $99.2 million gams after 10 days. They just won't be standing there very long.

Does Indiana Jones have one more surprise left in him? Falling 49% in its third weekend, the film seems to be holding well after another $22.8 million was unearthed. With a $253 million total, Indy's really only $35 million or so behind Iron Man. Last week I wouldn't have thought Indy had it in him to catch 'ole Shellhead, yet now there may be an outside chance.

The Top Five If Today Was Labor Day:

#1. Iron Man - $288.8 million
#2. Indiana Jones - $253 million
#3. Prince Caspian - $126 million
#4. Sex and the City - $99.2 million
#5. What Happens in Vegas - $72.3 million

This Week
There certainly was room for both The Zohan and a Panda to make some green last week. Can the same be said for this weekend that comes with its own green?

The Incredible Hulk hopes to restart the franchise that fizzled six years ago as soon as Ang Lee tried to give a super power to Nick Nolte. Seriously, what, was Wilfred Brimley busy or something? This time Hulk has a real baddy to fight in the Abomination and the quality of the ultimate destruction at the end might really make or break the film. No offence to Ang, but fans put up Bruce Banner's purple pants to see Hulk smash, not the other way around.

M. Night Shymalan's The Happening just happens to be opening against a potentially huge film. Maybe it'll hold up as counter-programming for those not inclined to "smash" or those who can't talk themselves into seeing "another" Hulk movie, however, M. Night's films used to be the ones that other studios had to counter-program against. I'd be more convinced if the "It's Friday the 13th!" and "It's his first rated R movie!" marketing taglines didn't sound like something P.T. Barnum would've cooked up. No no, don't see the movie because it's good… See it for these two completely arbitrary and coincidental factors!
